Video: Masculinity in the 1940s and 50s

This is my final assessment for the class ‘Sex Sells’ (semester 1, 2013), in which we looked at design and marketing in relation to gender studies and sexual objectification.


I chose to look at Frank Sinatra, Military Uniforms and Pinups, and their connections.
Attached is the video. However, I must say that I was sick at the time and parts of it were certainly rushed! Even some of the syncing has misaligned in exportation.

I thought that youtube had taken it down on copyright grounds, but apparently it’s back up now? Either way, that’s the reason why I hadn’t posted this semester 1, 2013 work up until now.
